Definitely it's a Lovely Runner. Though it's not a BL series but first thing that came to my mind after realizing the story is Lovely Runner. It has the same plot where tha main character try to change the ending... the future... to save the most special some one.
they are both great shows! But they also both have some more heavy stuff in them, for those who like that in a show
The parallels of these two tv shows firstly, with love for love's sake are strikingly evident. Similar to real-life relationships, the narrative transcends mere romantic entanglements, delving into the profound essence of love itself. Characters navigate through complexities, learning to cherish each other beyond societal norms, reflecting the depth of genuine affection. Their journey mirrors the unpredictability of authentic connections, showcasing both the joys and challenges of love. Just as in real life, the show emphasizes the importance of acceptance and understanding, portraying love in its purest form, untainted by external motives. Ultimately, it celebrates the beauty of love for love's sake.

I am surprised nobody put this drama in rec section yet! Love For Love's Sake is another drama where the main character enters a game (taking place in a school), meets the love of his life. Both dramas have apparently confusing endings....

Both involve travelling to a different world, changing the story in that alternative world and falling in love with one of the characters there.
The male lead is a older man with a different past life who gets put into a new world to try and make this other guy's life better, very similar to this story.
Similar premises. LfLS takes place in a video game(based on a novel) and Extraordinary You takes place in a comic. The main characters in both are aware that they are in a fictictional world and have to change the original story in order to live.
- Both are set in a school setting. - Both are Korean bls - Both feature one of the main lead's development from being a loner to making friends and getting along with others as well as gaining a love interest - Both feature a cute storyline and progression between the two main leads
Both dramas are about an augmented-reality game; while the ML in Love for Love’s Sake gets transported straight into the game and has to live by its rules, the game on the other hand bleeds into the reality of the ML in Memories of the Alhambra and things that occur in the game start to get real consequences. Both has romance.
Both are Korean BL dramas set in a school setting. It features a lonely male lead who plays a sport and gets to know a popular student (the other male lead) and eventually develops a love interest. Additionally, both include a dark theme.

Unfortunately this recommendation is a spoiler. Same messages about learning to love life and find those who care about you through a game administered by death its self.
Both have similarly dark time travel/alternate universe plots. What starts off as an interesting back-to-high school hook soon develops into something far more grave. Also, the acting and production of both is very high quality. If you can stomach seeing people who are mentally in their 20s-30s falling in love with high schoolers, then go for it and watch them both.
