Both dramas are very dark and twisted and artsy. Both dramas revolve around very complex characters, who have quite a dark side to them. Each one is full of twists and turns and is a very gripping thriller. Both can be associated to the arthouse genre.
Somebody (2022)
Similars
Charismatic creepy serial killer male lead
both dark thriller
i need to fill 100 characters here so idk what to say besides both shows give me the exact same vibes, both have similiar pace, both are a little wasted potiential ,but hard carried by good acting
There is a crazy psychopathic male lead in both and they suffer from similar fates at the end of the series/movie.
Both dramas are pure arthouse/film noir genre and thus revolve around topics that will make you uncomfortable and are at times disturbing. both dramas deal around a girl that has special needs and meets/gets reunited with a male lead that is a criminal. Both male leads and also both female leads are very similar in terms of behavior.
Murderer drama with exceptional good actors. If you are a fan of these Actors you might find yourself scared of the characters they play.
Both with brave Actors that show their incredible talent in not shying away from showing their ugly side. If you are not trapped in moral standards and what is social acceptable, you may enjoy their performance as a form of art and are not triggered by own traumata.
actually similar
gives off the same eerie atmosphere and the psycho killer is just as sexy (lee dong wook)
its not the same plot although both of the MC finds their true 'hobby'
The slow but intense description of the serial killer. Abrupt but sensualizing references of the serial killer. Not knowing whether to hate or love the killer trope.
Reminded me of this series although it was much more dark and had more psycho elements than the frog.At least the storyline made more sense. In the frog, many things didn’t make sense but it gave us a satisfying ending so i have no complaints. But 'somebody' will make you feel a lot of things in the end.
The female leads in both are the targets of serial killers who treat them as their prey as they slowly ingratiate themselves into their lives in sinister ways . The dynamics of the relationships the killers have with the female leads in these shows go in different directions but the the core stories are the same. Both shows tackle how technology and social media in the hands of psychopaths can be used as a tool to lure and harm women.
Somebody is a psychological thriller and therefore not everyone's cup of tea, just like Squid Game. It's heavy - one might feel extremely unwell and disturbed by it. There's no romance in neither, that's not the primary focus at all. There are, however, many explicit scenes of physical violence, murder, nudity and sex. It reminds me of Squid Game, which is known for its gore and murder scenes, but also its psychological concept which fits the subgenre of both.
