Welcome to Samdal-ri (2023)

FL goes back to hometown to take a break from city life.... the setting is small village but during winter season.

The synopsis is similar. Both ml and fml in both dramas grow up together on a small island. Due to some issues, they go separate ways and dont meet for many years. They coincidently meet again after many years when one is having a hard time. They look after each other, become the sun, and overcome the issues.

While watching "Welcome to Samdalri", I was reminded of "Call it Love" because the male lead's father in Welcome to Samdalri was against his relationship with the female lead because of the grievance he had with the female lead's family while in Call it Love, the female lead's family was against her relationship because of the grievance they had with the male lead's family. So, in both dramas the main leads had to struggle through these family issues and heal to finally be together. However, "Welcome to Samdalri" is lighter and more heartwarming, whereas "Call it Love" has a more serious tone. So, if you enjoyed the healing aspects of "Welcome to Samdalri," you might find "Call it Love" enjoyable despite its more serious tone.

Both of these dramas are romance and weather oriented. Weather forecasters falling in love... They are also both from Korea as well.

Both are about two families going through the trauma of an incident that splits them apart. And in doing so, they realize they've all been grieving in their own way silently and that closure can be found. Soredemo, Ikite Yuku is significantly darker, while the mood in Welcome to Samdal-ri is more light-hearted.

I feel that both dramas have a lot of similarities such as friendship from the past,loving and supporting family,healing process...

Young Soon is a single mother and pig farmer who raised her son Kang Ho alone. Despite her love for him, her strict parenting caused Kang Ho to view her as a bad mother. Welcome to Samdalri too revolves more or less around three sisters and their family. Although the two dramas are not that alike, they share similar themes of second chances, family, and community.
