Editor Shitara Mari hears that Miwa Yoshio, the boyfriend she split up with over a quarrel six months ago, has committed suicide. He was engaged to Miyamura Megumi whom he met through a online dating site. Miyamura Megumi is accused of murdering multiple men after swindling them with the false promises of marriage. Mari attends Megumi’s trial and tries to find out more about her. Mari travels to the island where Megumi was born with sports newspaper reporter Kitano Kengo.
