Hakuro's father died when he was a child, allowing his mother to re-marry into the wealthy Yagami family. Although Hakuro was also welcomed, he struggled to feel a part of this family. His younger half-brother, who possesses the same blood as him, has fared much better. After the death of his mother, Hakuro dropped the Yagami surname and parted ways with the family.
