Both shows have a group of people who decide to become the players of a mysterious game that has a big prize at stake. They have a similar vivid colors aesthetic. But Liar game is more psychological and has more clever games.

Both are Japanese shows centered around characters that get stuck in a mysterious survival game against their will. The mind games are awesome! While the consequence of losing in Liar Game is debt, losing equals death in Alice In Borderland. Both shows have a lot of suspense and a strong male/female duo without romance, where the male leads are unexpectedly overpowered (but the ML in AIB is just as clueless as the FL in Liar Game). While the writing in Liar Game focuses more on the value of the characters' individual personality traits, Alice In Borderland deals more with the social dynamics of people trying to survive in a dystopia. Small disclaimer: Alice In Borderland includes extreme violence.

It is also about people trying to play a game that they seemingly have no control over but they have to use their minds to make it out alive.

Both are psychological japanese movies with smart male leads that can solve all the mysteries. Liar game is a franchise about mind games with money as the objective, while 12 suicidal children is about solving a mystery while in a life or death situation. Both make you think very hard in order to find the answer. Both are very impactful. In the second season the games are more intense and come closer to the mind games in "12 suicidal children".

This a continuation of the second series. This movie shows the final part to the two season drama. I highly recommend it if you liked the first 2 seasons!!!
