After losing her brother, Chu Yao, to an accident, Li Luo Shu, an orphan living across the street, takes his place in the family to help care for her mentally unstable mother. Years later, Luo Shu falls in love with Chu Yao, but keeps his feelings hidden as she becomes engaged to Han Zi Mo. When Han Zi Mo flees due to debt, Chu Yao is left struggling.
