Tenno no Ryoriban (2015)

Both story is about food and the main genre also slice of life. However, Tenno no Ryoriban is a drama based on the true story of a famous cook in Japan.

Both dramas are about how the main characters overcame their adversities through life when everyone else had no faith in them. The relationships that helped them through difficulties and how the people around them provided unwavering support to them. The main theme of hope and finding passion in what you do.

En ambos dramas pondremos disfrutar del viaje de vida de nuestros protagonistas, y veremos desde las perspectivas de los ciudadanos japoneses como vivieron las guerras. Tenno no Ryoriba es una historia basada en hechos reales, así que veremos a Japón en diferente, épocas mientras el protagonista va creciendo como persona, de igual manera podremos observar la discriminación que pasaron los japoneses fuera de japón durante la guerra. En esta historia nuestro protagonista anda buscando algo en lo que ser bueno, es el dolor de cabeza de sus padres, pero una vez que conoce la cocina no la dejará hasta que se vuelva el mejor chef.

Both dramas are based on an autobiography of a real-life figure in Japan. Both are also set in Japan from the past era. There is also a little bit of story about the effect of WW in Japan. The difference between the two: Tenno is about a guy who became the emperor cook, whereas Gegege is about the life of Gegege no Kitaro mangaka from his wife point of view. Gegege has a longer eps (Asadora) whereas Tenno is short like a typical Japanese drama.

Both are about Japanese Imperial chefs/cooks, going to foreign countries to learn, master art of cooking / baking / chef., cook recipe for Japanese emperor. Both take place in pre-world war 20th century.

The drama plays during the Meiji era, 26 years after the incidents in the movies take place. In contrast to the movie the drama focuses on society and dreams of a young man. However it is just as well made concerning individual characters and their way of life. Additionally Sato Takeru is starring as lead actor in both mediums.

Both movies are based from true events. Both are about patriotism and perseverance. :)

Both drama is about a person pursuing a dream, about food and family. Both dramas are heartwarming with lots of life messages. However, Tenno no Ryoriban is based on a real life person, whereas Mare is fictional. Mare also has longer episodes compare to Tenno no Ryoriban.

Both theme about food. Bread love and dream is more focus on relationship and drama than Tenno no Ryoriban. But both also has a strong theme about family.

Both dramas have protagonists who are cooks and have talent in cooking. While IRRLY has the female lead working in the President's kitchen, Sato's character is the emperor's cook in TNR. Certain scenes in TNR seem to be inspired by IRRLY, although it could simply be a coincidence.

Both dramas are Food/Historical dramas about the protagonists' journey to become acknowledged cooks and describe the discrimination and prejudice they had to overcome. Kuroki Haru is the FL in both, in different roles, but gives the same vibes.
