both FL have a temper and formidable persistence both decide and help each other FL disguised as a man They are always one step ahead on scheming and such

Crossdressing female lead who is the heir to a lord. She acts as the ruling lord of her city while disguised as a man. She also jumps from a cliff and develops amnesia. The second ML is also a neutral player in politics until he's swayed by the FL to her side.

Both are historical dramas with a female emperor who the court thinks is a man and only those close to her know the truth. Both MLs are very devoted and affectionate to the FL.

Both of these dramas are hilarious, they actually have a similar style of humour! The FL in both is played by Zhang Yue Nan.

- Yan Zi Xian is ML in both dramas, - comedic moments, - ML is the emperor, - FL helps ML with court, - a little bit of bickering, - ML is madly in love with FL

Related to the 1st arc - Yan Zi Xian is the ML in both - Puppy MLs that are absolutely smitten with FL - SFL who tries to get in between ML & FL (almost the exact same character ngl) - Feisty and rather unconventional FLs who don't need saving and can hold their own - SML trying to ruin ML's life (CL is way more angsty about it) - Both MLs are high ranking (in MUD he's a king, in CL he's a rich merchant) - Comedies but CL is more angsty - Power couple

the same ridiculous 4rth wall breaking historical romance. they both are comedic versions of many palace drama and historical cliches.

- opposing cities; - great comedy; - bickering between mains; - funny servants; - debates on roles of men and women

- unification of empires/cities; - ML and FL are city lords/emperor/empress; - smart and capable FL; - ML and FL are good in martial arts; - ML and FL join forces

While completely different in tone (MUD is light and funny, TKA is much darker and heavier) both begin with the king killing the midwives to hide a birth secret and the FL being raised as a male crown prince.

Strong female leads who have to hide their real strength/selves. Cat and mouse cleverness games between leads. Royalty ML who falls first and falls harder. Lots of comedy.

- ML loves FL dearly, - ML is known to have good looks, - ML and FL are of noble origin, - FL is a powerful woman, who is strong in politics and performs traditionally male duties, - shows what hard desicions an emperor must make

- strong FL; - ML and FL are rulers; - bickering relationship; - similar costumes; - FL does not know her identity

This was more realization to FL behaviour Both have strong personalities and are humorous. Has comedy yet there's still a content.

Watch this drama instead if you find The Substitute Princess' Love is boring. I find the series more entertaining and the FL a better actress.
