Both the dramas have time travel and fantasy as the main theme. They talk about family relationships, about friends, about youth, school, and also about romance. Both the characters have regrets which make them to have time travel. But in IDWTBFWY she goes back to alter her mothers past. Both of them try to alter the future to have a better ending. The only difference is that in IDWTBFWY she stays in the past the whole time until get back to the future unlike in SFOT she goes back n forth in between past n future.
Both have respective son/daughter traveling back to the past to meet their parent. Very cute and heartwarming child/mother bond is formed. Both also have some cute romance side stories as well!

For me, one of the most noticeable things about I Don't Want To Be Friends With You was that the backdrop wasn't the usual Beijing/Shanghai etc but the cold Northeastern China; Harbin. It was really refreshing.
And Vacay 2 is also set on Harbin, which instantly intrigued me.
If you are a fan of this kind of silly little details like me and looking for a change in the usual backdrops of Cdramas, these two dramas are good choices! ? (well there are other reasons too, they both are very good dramas, backdrop or not, lol)
Both focus on a young group of kids growing up and experiencing their youth, these kids fall in love, develop great friendships, grow up and learn so much altogether! The main cps as well as the side ones are equally cute in both dramas! It's super cute and fluffy if that's what you're looking for!
Both dramas focus on mending their relationships with their mothers.
IDWTBWY is about fl understanding her mother by time travelling while TGBM is about the mother understanding ml when he gets an accident.
You could compare this show to any of the reply series but r1988 is my favorite :) r1988 doesn't have a time travel plot but its set in the past, revolves around a friend group/community, and they're both lovely and heartwarming.
If you liked the character developments, the unexpected surprises, the life lessons, the realistic set with fantasy (I know it's contradictory lol), the cute and fluffy youth romance, and the going back in time type of coming-of-age dramas, I Don't Want To Be Friends With you is perfect for you!
