The ML care for FL a lot and tries to protect her from all the evil people because he knows she is innocent, he trusts her whatsoever.

The key similarity is that in both shows the ML tries to help the FL (who is a subordinate) to do their job better but gets misconstrued as just being a tough boss. Both FL are plain nice people.
