Ashes of Love: Season 2 is based on Ashes of Love, which is set in a world of Gods and Goddesses. It's similar to Love and Destiny in that sense. With these dramas, expect a very long tribulation with cheesiness in between but for sure with a happy ending.
Both dramas tell the story of two sisters and their respective male interests, and how a mistake turns into a fated love in their lifetime. The FL falls in love with a man of formidable status in the heavenly tribe and breaks his steel walls, eventually gains his love and affection. ML still loves her despite knowing her true identity. However once known by others, tragic is unavoidable. They will fight for what they believe in even if the whole world is against them.
Both FLs are weaker beings connected to a tribulation or evil. Both dramas have misunderstandings between the leads, in which the ML goes to great lengths to save the FL but must act cold in front of her, leading the FL to believe he wants her harmed. Both FLs are sentenced to be executed. The secondary couple in both revolves around one half of which loves the other at first sight for years, and the other half of which is initially in love with someone else for a long time.
