Haruno Fuji agrees to meet Uekusa Chiaki at the Institut Francais Tokyo, a French school founded in 1952. The impressive building was designed by Sakakura Junzo, a leading architect of the Japanese modernist style. Uekusa was impressed by the double tiered spiral staircase and was fascinated by the architecture.
